About
Temple Grandin, formerly Lee Walker and the Sleep Talkers, is a five piece outfit that made their live debut in early 2025. Changes in personnel and an ever evolving taste prompted songwriter and frontperson Lee Walker to change the name of the group. By holding on to their honky tonk outlaw roots while having no reservations about diving into the unknown, the band has found their sound residing somewhere in the no man's land between Merle Haggard and Mudhoney. The new name is an homage to beloved autism rights advocate and horse and cow whisperer Temple Grandin, who reimagined the treatment of livestock for the better despite judgement and ridicule from the farming and ranching community. In a similar way the band hopes to subvert the rigid and exclusive country music establishment while embracing all the elements that make country music worthwhile, in an effort to make that good old sound new again.
