Those Guys

John Hribernick (singer/songwriter/guitarist) and Kristi Barnes (singer/percussionist) have been performing as Those Guys since 2011. The acoustic duo play an eclectic yet familiar mix of covers spanning decades and genres, as well as John's original songs. Although they're known for their harmony-laden covers, their Little BIG Fest set will feature original music.

John picked up his brother's guitar at age 12 and was hooked. He played in a few bands, touring in a power-pop group during his early 20s. After moonlighting as a guitarist with several cover bands, a series of life-changing events led him to songwriting. His originals range from soulful, emotional ballads to cerebral, nuanced pop/folk, layering lyrics deep in symbolism, complex chord structures, and deceptively straightforward melodies.

Kristi played guitar as a child, but singing is her passion. She found her calling in choral music, performing at the Kennedy Center and touring Spain and Portugal. But pop proved irresistible, and she switched from classical to covers in the mid-2000s. Kristi has since sung with several groups, including classic rock band N2O and tribute bands Hot Lava (B-52's) and the ABBAgraphs.
